Yukata Dressing and a traditional tea ceremony experience at a Japanese Farmhouse

Date: Tuesday, May 7th

Meeting Location:  Meet at 9:00 am at Motomachi Chukagai station, motomachi exit.

Venue: Tsuzuki Minaken 

Description: You will be dressed in yukatas, provided by KSGG.  Volunteers will explain the concept and the basic etiquette of enjoying a  Japanese Tea Ceremony.  After taking photos, you will dress back into your clothes and enjoy lunch in the main farmhouse while listening to the history and unique attributes of the farmhouse. 

Fee: 1,500 yen. The fee covers the private use of the historic tea house.

What to Wear:  

  1. Hair up in a bun, or bring a clip so you can put it up yourself 
  2. V-neck short-sleeve T-shirt and short spats or knee-length leggings. 

What to Bring: 

  1. A pair of white socks or tabi, and sandals, if you have them.
  2. Lunch to eat at the farmhouse.

Notes:

  • Since you will be using authentic and very precious tea cups, kindly  remove all rings, bracelets and wristwatches before the tea ceremony so that you do not accidently scratch or damage these special tea cups.
  • Please take all trash with you when leaving premises of the farmhouse; there are no public trash cans on the premises.
